If you were looking for a sign, here it is.
Do the hard thing.
Obey God.
The only person that can keep you from being obedient to God—is YOU.
Your obedience requires encouragement, agreement, or congratulations from NO ONE.
ZERO people are needed for you to decide to obey God.
We do not obey only when it is fun, easy, popular, or aligns with what we already wanted to do.
We obey because He is Creator and His design, plans, and purposes are good.
We obey because He is Giver and we are grateful.
We obey because He is loving Father and we love Him in return.
We obey because He is Judge and He sees all, knows all, and rules in wisdom.
We should delight in the opportunity to rest in, and not resist, the righteous rule of a righteous judge.
Seriously, we are drowning in corruption and confusion.
But WITH GOD—we never have to wonder or be wary…
Who appointed Him? NONE.
Who owns Him? NONE.
Which way does He lean, what party does He belong to? NONE.
We obey because He is King and has authority.
He commands.
But He commands OF US,
what IS BEST FOR US.
Obedience is your personal response to His very personal faithfulness to you. Test Him and see. He can be trusted.
Promise.
