The New York-based company said it had net income of $1.51 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were $1.63 per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 11 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.61 per share.

The global professional services firm providing strategy, risk and people solutions posted revenue of $5.7 billion in the period, missing Street forecasts. Nine analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $5.71 billion.
