This sweet holiday is a day when children and families can honor the women in their lives who have raised, taught, helped, and poured into them. Although this holiday is not a biblical one, God instructs honor and respect toward mothers (see Ephesians 6:1-3).

We see women in the Bible shine with confidence, talent, and leadership. As we dig deeper into moms in the Bible, we find traits that surprise us and reveal their strength, courage, and persistence.

Regardless of the circumstance, every mother needs someone to come alongside them and bring encouragement. Here are seven things we can say and do today to bring encouragement to the mothers we encounter.

Mother’s Day was to become a day of bittersweet, yes, celebration. This was a day I could boldly walk up to the lady at church handing out carnations and say “yes” when they asked me if I was a mother.Because I am.Not was.I am.I am a mother of three.

So, go ahead and dive into the ice cream and have a really good cry; you are totally allowed!
