GUWAHATI, India (AP) — Sophie Devine won the coin toss and New Zealand chose to bat first against Bangladesh at the Women’s Cricket World Cup.

New Zealand is in search of its first win at the tournament, having lost against Australia and South Africa.

The White Ferns opted to bat Friday in light of a used pitch, which could help the side batting first.

The slow surface at the Barsapara Stadium has been conducive to spin bowling and it should continue to help spinners once again.

New Zealand made one change to its side – medium pacer Rosemary Mair comes in for Bree Illing.

Bangladesh made two changes with batter Sumaiya Akter and off-break bowler Nishita Akter Nishi coming into the playing eleven.

Fifth-placed Bangladesh beat Pakistan by seven wickets in the opening game, before losing to England by four wickets.
